Avarakkai Poriyal in Tamil || அவரைக்காய் பொரியல்

Ingredients


Avaraikkai - 250 Grams
Mustard - 1/2 Teaspoon
Urad Dhal - 1/2 Teaspoon
Cumin Seeds - 1/2 Teaspoon
Green Chillies - 2 Nos
Curry Leaves - A Sprig
Shallots - 3 Nos
Grated Coconut - 2 Tablespoons
Salt - To Taste
Oil - 2 Teaspoons

Method

Wash the vegetable and chop them finely.
Heat a kadai and add oil.
Once it is hot, add mustard,urad dhal and allow it to splutter.
Add cumin seeds,green chillies and curry leaves.
Add shallots and fry for few seconds.
Add the chopped vegetables and mix it well.
Sprinkle some water and close it with a lid and cook for 5 - 7 minutes. Give it a mix inbetween.
Add required salt and cook it for another minute.
Finally add grated coconut,mix well and turn off the heat. Serve hot.
