Ingredients
Urad dhal - 100 Grams
channa dhal - 25 Grams
Curry Leaves- A fistful
Dry Red chilles - 10 Nos
Oil - 1 Teaspoon
Asafoetida - 2 Teaspoons
Salt - To taste
Method
Wash the curry leaves and dry them well.
Heat a kadai and add oil.
Cut the red chillies into half and keep it ready.
Once the oil is hot, add the red chillies and fry for less than a minute.
Transfer it to a plate.
In the same kadai, add urad dhal and roast till it turns into golden colour. Transfer it to the plate.
Add channa dhal and roast it till it turns into light golden colour. Transfer it to the plate.
Add curry leaves and roast it till it turns crispy.
To the fried curry leaves add all the previously roasted ingredients.
To this add salt and asafoetida. Turn off the heat.
Allow the mixture to cool down.
Transfer the contents to the mixie jar and grind it to a slightly coarse powder.
Idly podi is ready. Mix this podi with sesame oil and enjoy it with idly and dosa.
