Cucumber Carrot Raita || Yoghurt raita recipe || தயிர் பச்சடி

Learn how to make raita for briyani. This cucumber raita can be prepared in less time and tastes great with briyani. Adding carrot and onion to this raita makes it even more tastier and colourful.

Ingredients


Thick Curd - 1 Cup
Cucumber -  1/2 Cup (Chopped)
Carrot - 2 Tablespoons (Chopped)
Onion - Little (thinly sliced)
Green Chilly - 1 No (Chopped)
Coriander Leaves - Little
Cumin Powder - 1 Teaspoon
Oil - 1 Teaspoon
Mustard - 1/2 Teaspoon
Urad dhal - 1/2 Teaspoon
Asafoetida - A pinch
Curry Leaves - Little
Salt - To Taste

Method

In a big bowl, add curd.
Add chopped cucumber, carrot, onion and greenchilly. Mix well
Add required salt.
In a tadka pan, add oil. Once it is hot, add mustard, urad dhal and wait for it to splutter.
Turn off the heat and add curry leaves
Add asafoetida.
Mix well and add the tempering to the curd mixture.
Add chopped coriander leaves and sprinkle some cumin powder.
