Chettinad uppu kari is super easy mutton recipe that goes well with rasam and rice. This mutton uppu kari turns out to be very soft, juicy and delicious.

Ingredients

Mutton - 250 grams
shallots - 100 grams
Green Chillies - 3 Nos
Salt - To taste
Oil - 1 tablespoon

Method

Wash the mutton couple of times.

Take the washed mutton in a pressure cooker and add 1/2 cup of water. Add little salt, mix well.

Pressure cook the mutton for 2 - 3 whistles.

Pressure cooking time varies based on the tenderness of the mutton.

In another pan, add oil and once it is hot, add chopped green chillies. Add shallots and fry it for few minutes.

Add the cooked mutton pieces and saute them for 2 minutes. Reserve the water used for cooking mutton. Add required salt and give it a mix.

After 2 minutes, add the mutton cooked water. Reduce the flame to medium and cook till it thickens.
