Lets see how to grind idly batter to get soft and fluffy idly.Idly is an authentic breakfast recipe in southindia. To get soft and spongy idly, certain tips needs to be followed which is mentioned in the video. Idli is a very comforting food that is suitable to people of all ages from kids to elderly. I have mixed rice and lentils in the ration of 4.5 : 1. Have added little fenureek seeds along with urad dhal which makes the batter nice and fluffy. To make the idly even softer I have added 3 tablespoons of flattened rice/ aval. Allow the idly batter to ferment for atleast 8 hours before making idly. After 2-3 days, the same batter can be used to make dosas. Idly is a healthy breakfast recipe as it is steam cooked. Homemade idly batter is always the best to make idly. Enjoy this idly with hotel sambar or tiffin sambar, coconut chutney, onion chutney,thakkali chutney.
